Students in the UAE can stay for studies either through sponsorship by a parent who is a UAE resident or through the university or college they attend. University Student Affairs offices assist with the visa processes.

The student visa is initially granted for one year and can be renewed for another year with proof of ongoing studies from the educational institution.

Expatriate residents can sponsor their male children until they reach the age of 25. Male students older than 25 can remain under their parents’ sponsorship by providing proof of attending a higher education program for at least one year. Expatriate residents can sponsor their female children for studies, regardless of age, until the daughter gets married.

Required Documents for a UAE Student Visa

• Acceptance Letter: A letter confirming acceptance by a UAE school.
• Passport: A passport valid for at least six months.
• Photos: Recent passport-sized pictures that meet UAE visa standards.
• Application Form: The visa application form provided by immigration.
• Health Insurance: Proof of health insurance for your stay.
• School Documents: Copies of educational certificates and grades.
• Money Proof: Bank statements showing sufficient funds for tuition and living costs.
• Health Certificate: A doctor's note confirming your health status.
• Sponsor’s Residence Proof: Proof of your sponsor's residence in the UAE.
• Emirates ID (if applicable): A copy of your sponsor’s Emirates ID, if needed.

Eligibility for the UAE Student Visa

To qualify for a 5-year UAE Student Visa, high academic performance is crucial. If you have completed secondary education, you must have achieved a minimum grade of 95% from a public or private secondary school to meet the eligibility criteria.
